What services do you provide?
We develop a senior home care plan with you to provide the services you need to be safe and healthy. We provide nursing, geriatric care management, personal care assistance, home health aides and senior companions. We also offer various therapies (physical, occupational, and speech) and other specialty services. When you need a service we do not provide, we draw from our network of experienced professionals to find someone who can help.
What do geriatric care managers do?
Geriatrics care managers (GCMs) are professionals who help seniors and their families organize their health care services and arrange long-term care. GCMs have experience in nursing, social work, or gerontology. They are problem solvers, advocates, care coordinators, and counselors. For more information on GCMs and the support they provide, see our Geriatric Care Management page here.
Who seeks geriatric care management?
Anyone with the responsibility or desire to help a senior arrange long-term care services or improve the services currently in place. This may include individuals acting on their own behalf, family members, friends, eldercare lawyers or trust and estate attorneys, financial planners, bank trust officers, guardians and guardianship judges, and employee assistance programs (EAPs). Care managers do not replace any of these people. Their role is to provide expertise and support to help them do their work better.
What is your service area?
We serve all boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau County. We can also assist with relocations to and from the New York metropolitan area.
What languages are spoken at Allegiant?
Our staff and senior caregivers speak numerous languages in addition to English, including Spanish, Russian, Yiddish and more than a dozen others.
What levels of service do you provide? Is there a minimum?
Care services are available as needed to meet the client’s needs. Some clients receive occasional visits, while others ask for 24-hour home care. We offer live-in caregivers and “shift nursing” where a nurse stays in your home for several hours or up to full-time. We work with you to create a schedule and care team suited to your needs, though we ask that home health aide and companion visits are a minimum of four hours in length.
Is a long-term contract required?
No. Our engagements can be for a specified length of time or indefinite, depending on the client’s health needs and preferences. You may cancel services at any time with reasonable notice.
What licenses and certifications does Allegiant Home Care have?
Allegiant Home Care is licensed by the New York State Department of Health and accredited by the Joint Commission. In addition, our nurses and other professionals are licensed by New York State. Our home health aides are certified and receive ongoing professional development.
How much does home care cost, and who pays?
We seek to minimize your expenses while providing the services you need. In our initial discussions, we review available insurance policies, entitlements, and other possible sources of coverage. When we see an opportunity for you to lower your out-of-pocket costs, we will help you find a professional to assist you. Allegiant works with Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, veteran benefits, and numerous health insurance plans. Services not covered by insurance may be paid privately.
Will we receive a detailed report of services provided before payment is due?
Yes. We provide a detailed invoice to each self-pay client or client’s designee specifying the service provided, visit dates and times, and fees.
Do you offer a complimentary consultation?
Yes. We invite you to contact us at any time via email (email@example.com) or by calling 212-781-0101. You will be connected with a professional who has helped hundreds of others with their long-term care and a wide range of related needs. Even if your needs are outside our scope of service, we will try to suggest other helpful resources.
“I would like to thank each of you for all you did while my aunt was in rehab and to ensure her safe return to her apartment. I am happy to say that she is very happy about being home and has started eating again. Not a lot but she is going in the right direction. She has excellent aides who are taking excellent care of her and giving her the attention she needs to keep her happy and healthy. Samantha and Marissa are taking such good care of my aunt.
The attention Allegiant has given to my aunt’s case has been remarkable. Everyone at Allegiant is a very caring person and concerned about my aunt’s well-being. Thank you so much for having taken care of her these past two years and I look forward to working with you while my aunt is in her apartment.
The nurses who have been assigned to her case are outstanding. When a problem arises they are there to be sure it is being handled properly. Thank you ladies for your dedication to my aunt.
Again, thanks for all you and the staff of Allegiant are doing to help us during this transition period. Without your help my anxiety level would be to the moon and back. I can sleep at night knowing that she is in safe hands.” -Gloria
